Thier First Homecoming!
-Carling Jones

Everyone was excited for homecoming this year. The spirit dress up days, the parade, the carnival and especially the dance. For the majority of us it was a familiar sight to see all the school spirit and effort contributed to this year’s homecoming festivities. For the freshmen, on the other hand, it was a brand new experience!

Like fish being thrown into a shark tank, the freshmen were tossed straight into homecoming. With Monster as their theme, they worked very hard to learn and contribute to their first homecoming.

About half of the freshmen attended the dance last Saturday and the majority of them enjoyed it very much!

When asked about her dance experience, freshman Cierra Hildebrand stated, “I enjoyed the big screens with the videos of people dancing on them.”

Many freshmen are reported to have had pre-homecoming parties and took many memorable pictures. Their enthusiasm was evident as almost every freshman who attended homecoming danced the night away!

Not only did they participate in the dance, but they also dressed up for the spirit dress days! Most participated in at least one dress up day; and we are extremely proud of those of you who went the distance and contributed all five days!

Freshman Stefanie Kang said, “I expected a lot of people to have (homecoming) spirit.”

Thanks to the class of 2011 many did. Congratulations freshmen! You have survived your first homecoming and have given the rest of us a sneak peek at what you will accomplish in the future!
