Box Office Hits

As the cold weather approaches and those bright sunny days come
to an end, the movies are always something you could do that is
entertaining, does not cost much, and of course is indoors.
This past weekend, raking in over 16 million dollars was The Game
Plan, with Madison Pettis and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The Game Plan is basically about quarterback Joe Kingman who is
one of the toughest players in the history of football. Joe’s
team, the Rebels, is so close to winning their long-awaited championship
that Joe is living the ultimate lifestyle. He is cool, famous,
rich, and the life of every party. Suddenly that bachelor type
life style goes down the drain when he finds his eight-year-old
daughter on his doorstep, a daughter he never knew existed. Joe
must then learn to balance his old lifestyle of partying and being
the team all star with ballet, dolls, and bedtime stories.
Bringing in over 14 million this past weekend was The Heartbreak
Kid starring comedian Ben Stiller. After many years of bachelorhood,
Eddie Cantrow (Stiller) begins to believe that he is way too picky
about all of the women that he meets. So when Lila, a charming
blonde, comes into his life, Eddie immediately proposes. As the
two of them get to know each other down the long drive toward
Mexico, Eddie begins to realize that he had made a terrible mistake.
After arriving in Mexico, Eddie meets Miranda, a sweet down to
earth woman, who has absolutely no idea he is married and on his
honeymoon. Now Eddie has to think of a way to divorce Lila without
Miranda finding out.
The Kingdom, an action/thriller, takes place in Saudi Arabia when
a terrorist related bomb detonates inside a Western housing compound
in the city of Riyadh. FBI special agent Ronald Fleury secretly
puts together an elite team and negotiates a five-day trip to
Saudi Arabia to find the suspected terrorist. As the team arrives,
they find that their presence is very unwelcome. Stuck behind
the Saudi Arabia’s laws and their five days running out,
the team joins Saudi Colonel Al-Ghazi, who helps them understand
the politics and figure out the secrets behind the attack. The
team is eventually lead to the bomber’s door, and will not
stop the fight until justice is found.
If comedies and action/thriller movies are not your thing, there
are so many other kinds of movies out there and I am sure that
there is at least one out there for you, you just have to do a
little search.
