An Unbelieveable Comeback

The Lady Gael Tennis team played Alhambra on Tuesday and beat them eight out of the nine matches. One highlight of the day was it was senior day and also the last home match. We started eight seniors who all played their last home match ever.

Dublin absolutely dominated winning all eight of there matches in dictating fashion. Another plus for the match was that senior Tanya Vucetic came back to play her senior day after what looked like a season ending foot injury. She had been hoping that she could play in a few last matches, but after talking to her doctor it didn’t look promising.

However, she overcame the pain and played Tuesday with Hannah Torstein and defeated their opponents in two sets winning 7-6 (7-3) and 6-3. Hannah said “It was really nice to have Tanya back in the lineup and the whole team is proud of what she has overcome.”

In the singles category, as a team, we lost only ten sets and won seventy-two. It was a great way to say goodbye to the seniors and they couldn’t have asked for a much better result.
