Girls Golf Finnishs Strong
-Ascanio Ramirez
The girl’s golf team ended the season with the League Tournament. They finished seventh out of ten. Not bad for the brand new team. One of its star players Christy Nassino shot an eighty-one. She ended up 2nd in the tournament overall. “We have started a great tradition,” says head Coach Chris Meredith.
This is the beginning of Dublin High’s first girls golf team and impressed several people on campus. “They play very well for being in competition for the first time,” says one DHS student. The team was happy with their performance and sad that the season already had to be over.
They have started something new and wonderful and will always to be able to say that they were the first. “I’m very happy with the girls and proud of them,” says Coach Meredith. This marks the legacy of girls’ golf. With players like Christy Nassino and Lauren Liming and all the girls under the masterful coaching of Chris Meredith girls golf will continue strong and steadily will become better and better.
With the support of the school behind they are sure to grow in skill. “The girls show a lot of promise. They have good sportsmanship and skill,” says a student
