NHL Update: Week 17
-Farish Khan

It was a disappointing weekend if you are a football fan in the bay area. Both of our teams, the Raiders and the 49ers, lost.

The 49ers got spanked by the New York Giants. It was a horrible game to watch because everything went wrong for them. It was the 49ers 4th straight loss, but was the Giants 5th straight win. Trent Dilfer was sacked 6 times by the Giants defense and was facing constant pressure. Eli Manning threw 3 touchdowns to Amani Toomer, Jeremy Shockey, and Brandon Jacobs ran for 107 yards and a touchdown, a career high. The Gaints won 33-15.

The Oakland Raiders had a tough loss 12-10 against their division rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs. The game came down to the final minutes in the end of the game. Larry Johnson had a 1 yard touchdown run early in the 4th quarter. And in the final minutes where Oakland was trying to march down the field, Daunte Culpepper threw an interception in the final minute to end the game.

The New England Patriots are still playing at a perfect level as Tom Brady threw for another 6 touchdowns against the Dolphins, killing them 49-28. This is the first time in the 48 year history of the Patriots that they have started off 7-0. Wes Welker had 138 yards and 2 touchdowns and Randy Moss had 122 yards for 2 touchdowns.

It has been a very exciting season so far so make sure to stay tuned!
