This year’s Homecoming was one for the record books, as there were more nominees for Homecoming royalty than ever before. Every class had at least one tie for nominations and there was even a tie for junior princess.
For senior guys, the nominees were Ben Buserwini, Brian Bauer, Nick Fisher, Matt Kellogg, Trevor Morrissey, and Chip Richie. For senior girls, the nominees were Kayleigh Laforce, Sherice Leon, Stephanie Ma, Crystle Nancovsky, and Brenna Schaaf. Ben Buserwini was crowned Homecoming king at the skit rally and Crystle Nancovski was crowned Homecoming queen the next night during halftime of the homecoming game.
“It was great being nominated for king with all of my fellow senior studs,” explained senior Matt Kellogg after the rally.
For junior guys, the nominees were Max Hennessey, Jered Lui, and Johnny Warlich. For the junior girls, the nominees were Kendal Borgeson, Brittany Lundberg, Jamie Patterson, Lindsay Platter, and Gina Watkins. Jered Lui was crowned junior prince, while both Jamie Patterson and Lindsay Platter tied for junior princess.
“It was surprising that there were two princesses this year!” said Princess Jamie Patterson, “It was fun being able to share the title with Lindsay.”
For sophomore guys, the nominees were Cody Hoster, Tony Ippolito, and Kyle McClain. For sophomore girls, the nominees were Sarah May, Natalie Roufchaie, Nicole Skubic, and Chrissy Waite. Cody Hoster was crowned sophomore prince and Nicole Skubic was crowned sophomore princess.
For freshman boys, the nominees were Adam Abtahi, Jayleen Pauling, and Paul Schaaf. For freshman girls, the nominees were Matty Banks, Shannon Corrigan, Kara Pittson, and Summer Benavidez. Jayleen Pauling and Summer Benavidez were crowned prince and princess for the freshman.
Everyone really enjoyed how they did the halftime show on Friday night with all the princesses and the queen nominees. With each senior queen nominee the announcers briefly gave a bio for each of them so the audience could get to know them a little better. “It was very formal and entertaining,” said John Van Dorn. It was a special night for all the girls!
