Think you need to go way out of your way to see some fancy cars? Well, think again. Last week Dublin High had its very first Homecoming Car Show and students got to show off their sweet rides. With almost 40 different cars in the show, DHS students got to check out all types of cars, from jeeps to luxury cars, while enjoying the free barbeque provided by the leadership class.

“I really liked the idea of having the car show during Homecoming week. It was like adding another activity to Homecoming and having it during lunch made it possible for everyone to attend.” said sophomore, Christine Kim.

This year, the four first place winners in each of the four categories, Luxury, Sport, Economy, and Truck, got an added bonus besides just the title of having the best car. This year first place winners as chosen by the judges, Mr. Olander, Mr. Rubio, and Ms. Wood, got to be in the Homecoming Parade on Friday.

In the category of luxury cars, first place went to Lauren Liming, second place went to Mark Guadagni, and third place went to Efran Sadaghin.

Out of all the sports cars out in the parking lot, the title of best sports car went to Ashlyn Sala, with Chuck Krause coming in at second and Dan Arrevelo in third.

Kayla Hans won the category of best economy car with second place going to Michael Burgess for his unique car and third place going to Mike Fulwiler.

Finally, in the category of best truck, Brent McHone took first, Josh Mazzie took second, and Devin Kettle came in at third.

If you entered your car in the show this year and didn’t win, don’t worry about it. Just clean up your car and enter it again next year and maybe you’ll be luckier!
