Lady Gaels, Close to .500

The Lady Gael woman’s varsity volleyball team has started the year with a 3-4 record and looks to go on a run to get above .500.

They have been one of the strongest team in the Diablo Foothill Athletic League in the early part of the season. They have had a few tough losses in the late parts of their games and part of that has to do with how young their team is.

The three seniors, Gabrielle LeCheminant, Christina Highsmith, and Lauren Cunningham, look to teach the younger players how to fight through a game and never give up.

The captains are Gabrielle LeCheminant, Christina Highsmith, and Mariah Fulton, made sure that they had a great game on Tuesday October 2^nd where they played Campolindo who hasn’t lost since 2000.

In the third game they were tied 15-15 at one point and ended up losing 25-19. Chereese Thomas said “Although we didn’t beat them we hit a lot of the goals that we set during the game and next time we will look to build on that and beat them.”

Our Lady Gaels play again Thursday against Northgate at 6:30 at home so let’s go cheer them on and help them get back to .500!
