WORLD SERIES HOPEFULS
-Greg Zanders
The MLB postseason has had a great kickoff with the tiebreaking game for the wild card between the San Diego Padres and the Colorado Rockies. This game went into the 13th inning where the
Rockies
scored three runs to win against closer Trevor Hoffman. Although this was a heartbreaker, it was not the only one around the league.
The New York Mets fell short of the playoffs even though they were picked to win the World Series this year. They lost a 7 game lead on the Phillies on the last day of the regular season. Maybe next year will be more promising for the Mets.
Also, some incredible milestones have been reached this year. Barry Bonds Passes Hank Aaron on the all time homerun list. Trevor Hoffman of the Padres Became baseballs all time saves leader. Jimmy Rollins and Curtis Granderson became part of a very elite group. Both of these players had at least 20 doubles, 20 triples, 20 homeruns, and 20 steals. This amazing accomplishment will put them in the record books.
Stay tuned into ESPN to keep an eye on the playoffs because a champion will be crowned soon!
