Clothing Drive Brings Relief to Fire Victims
By Michael Rose
This week
Dublin
High School
is participating in a school-wide clothing drive. Everything from shirts to pants to baby socks is being collected in all first period classes. In order to encourage the support of everyone in their first period classes, the class that donates the most articles of clothing by the end of the drive will receive a free in-class breakfast. As of the writing of this article Ms. Lopez is in 1st place,
Moreno
is in 2nd and Mrs. Atalla class is in third. There are a lot more classes close behind, so keep bringing in clothes to your class. These donated clothes will be sent to aid the victims of the eighteen fires that have recently raged through
Southern California
.
Any donations would be appreciated and the clothing that is collected will be a great comfort to the fire victims. Over 3,400 structures were either damaged or destroyed entirely in the fire, 1,972 of them being homes. Thousands now are left homeless and are in need of any and all donations. That is the purpose of the clothing drive that
Dublin
High School
is a part of. Of course, if this isn’t motivation enough to donate clothing to the drive the most generous class wins the breakfast and the knowledge that they are making a big difference.
Our contribution as a school to the fire victims in
Southern California
will be alongside various kinds of aid given by government agencies and volunteers including the faithful from many religious groups and the Salvation Army.
Dublin
High School
is doing its part to contribute our aid to the fire victims and we hope we’re making a difference in improving their lives so that they may be able to rebuild and once again have a home to live in.
