Pro-Iraq Anonymously

Death and destruction are the two words that the liberal media uses to describe the situation in Iraq , resulting in harsh and unfair sentiment towards the war in Iraq . But can one really understand this complicated issue in such simple, biased terms, which ignore important facts and oversimplify this complex situation? One must dig beneath the surface and analyze the facts which the media decided to exclude, if one wants a genuine understanding of the situation.

Many war critics use casualty numbers to criticize our efforts in the region, however they fail to mention the atrocities that happened under Saddam Hussein. According to Human Rights Watch, in the year following the First Gulf war “250,000 people were killed during the uprisings, with most of the casualties in the south."  In addition to that in the moths following Operation Iraqi freedom U.S. Forces found 253 mass graves containing as many as 300,000 corpses. I could go on and on for days about

Saddam’s atrocities, not to mention that he used chemical weapons to gas 100,000 of Kurds in a Nazi-like fashion and that he has killed 40 members. The bottom line is that the death toll under Saddam dwarfs the recent number of deaths reported by our liberal media today.

Nevertheless, the United States main premise for invading Iraq was the threat of weapons of mass destruction. Before the invasion, British, Russian, and American Intelligence suggested that Iraq was getting its hands on Weapons of Mass destruction. A complacent American would argue that the Russians have had WMDs for the last 50 years and have not used them, however this was due to M.A.D, mutually assured destruction, they know that if they used them, they would receive the same fate. On the other hand, with Muslim extremist, they do not care if they die in the same fate as us because they believe they would go to heaven as martyrs.

Another fact that many ignore is the positive effects on the economy. Many may argue that the war is a waste of money, however in reality the money flows back into our economy, hence the military-industrial complex. The same thing that got Germany and the United states out of their great depressions.

Taking Iraq would also secure us being the sole superpower in the world. By taking Iraq , the second largest oil reserve in the world, we would control the power spicket to the world, giving us veto powers over other countries. This would give us the upper hand on China who is moving closer and closer to an oil dependent country.

So the next time you hear someone criticize the war, enlighten them on the other aspects of the war—that are in favor of America ’s interest.
